Announcement: UMI Asia AG’s New E-Commerce Service in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore

We are excited to announce the launch of our new e-commerce service, starting with an online shop in Vietnam, providing customers with fast, reliable access to a distribution channel for a wide range of products in Asia. Similar platforms are currently being prepared for Malaysia and Singapore, where we already have our own subsidiaries, a prerequisite for operating the online shops, that ensures a smooth rollout and efficient local operations.

With the realization of the Umbrella Concept, we are supporting foreign companies in the market entry phase, developing of market strategies and business, securing investment, matching global A-Z outsourcing needs or looking for local partners in Vietnam and vice versa in Europe.

We collaborate with both local and foreign enterprises, support the trading of goods, provide consulting for import and export businesses, provide technical and engineering consultancy, research and development capacity for industrial goods, etc.

According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Vietnam is now in a period known as the “golden population structure”, one characterized by an abundant labor force that has not been fully exploited because of insufficient investment in education and training. Seeing its mission in provision of excellent services with skilled workforce to the customers, UMI ASIA Vietnam has been focusing since establishment in professional education and training of people, especially providing skills for young people and overseas studies consulting, as well as providing competent consultancy for enterprises in HR & management and staff sourcing.

During his 30 years of practice as a consultant, trainer and entrepreneur Prof. Dr. Rolf-Dieter Reineke worked in more than 40 countries, with a regional focus on ASEAN countries. As Managing Director of UMI ASIA AG in Zurich he is dealing with business development and monitoring of project execution. His functional expertise covers internationalization and intercultural management, entrepreneurship, strategy, change and cooperation management.
His responsibilities as a Professor at the School of Business of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) includes the offshore MBA programs of FHNW in ASEAN countries and the SwissInnovation Challenge in Switzerland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Prof. Reineke is also Founder and Board Member of several companies in the consulting and other service sectors in Europe and Asia. Previously he had positions in various universities and major consulting companies such as Gemini Consulting (Cap Gemini).
Prof. Reineke received his Master Degree in Economics and his Ph.D. in International Management from the University of Münster / Germany.

With more than 16 years of experience in the fields of reneweable energy, civil construction and education, Dr. Nguyen Anh Phuong excelled in business building in multi-culture working environments. As Managing Director of UMI ASIA Ltd in Germany, she is handling the business entry for UMI ASIA into Vietnam and later SEA with a focus on accelerating the investment, education and advisory services in renewable energy. Dr. Phuong is concurrently the Founder and CEO of Tona Syntegra Solar, a JV between the Vietnamese-based Tona Construction Corporation and the Swiss-German based Syntegra Solar company. Furthermore, she served as Vice Director of International Study Programs at Hochiminh City University of Technology (HCMUT). In this role, she also acted as a senior lecturer in the fields of MIS, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
Dr. Phuong received her Master Degree in Management Information Systems from University of Applied Sciences Hannover, Germany and her Ph.D. in Energy Policy from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

Terry is responsible for overseeing operations and management of subsidiaries, including Tree Marine, Mercury Logistics, Energy Construction & Services, and Spectacle Hub. His focus includes business consultancy, renewable energy commodities, marine logistics, and trading. Therefore, Terry is, among others, responsible for our new online shop service offering in Vietnam.
He has built remarkable relationships and networks across various industries, showcasing his multifaceted business acumen.
With 10 years of experience in Vietnam’s energy market, Terry has been instrumental in the success of multiple subsidiaries under Leong Lee International. He also serves as an Executive Committee Member of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, working to enhance trade and cooperation between Vietnamese and Singaporean enterprises.
Terry holds a master’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) Swiss-Asian MBA, and he is currently pursuing an Executive Ph.D. at PSL Dauphine.
